Chapter Philanthropy & Service
Within Theta Lambda Chapter, we support our international philanthropy, which focuses on ending hunger. Our ultimate goal is to help children, families, and the elderly who are in need of food and supplies by promoting awareness of food insecurity in our community and raising money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation so we can assist those on an international level as well. Together, we can work towards having "full plates, hearts, and minds." For the past 18 years, our chapter has been a Jewel Chapter because we have successfully raised over $2,000 each year. Money is raised at a number of events including: our annual softball tournament, date auctions, car washes, through competitions such as Derby Days and other Greek organization events. In 2017, we have already raised already $4,000.
Our sisters do not limit themselves to philanthropic work only at the international level, but we are actively involved in our community as well. Each week we have sisters visit and participate at the Manna Food Bank located in downtown Pensacola. This is a great opportunity for our sisters to help package nutritional foods so that people in our local community do not have to worry about how they are going to get their next meal. This past year, the Theta Lambda Chapter has volunteered their time with the following: Relay for Life, American Diabetes Association, Meals on Wheels, Feeding America, and the Children's Miracle Network. We are always seeking out new opportunities to provide service within the Pensacola community.
