Chapter Philanthropy & Service
Within Theta Lambda Chapter, we support our international philanthropy, which focuses on diabetes awareness and education. Our ultimate goal is to defeat diabetes one step at a time by promoting awareness of diabetes and raising money for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. For the past 14 years, our chapter has been a Jewel Chapter because we have successfully raised over $2,000 each year. Money is raised at a number of events including: our annual softball tournament, date auctions, car washes, through competitions such as Derby Days and other Greek organization events. In 2013, we have already raised already $4,000.
Our sisters do not limit themselves to philanthropic work only at the international level, but we are actively involved in our community as well. Each week we have sisters visit participate in a Adopt-A-Grandparent program at the Sterling House. This is a great opportunity for our sisters to gain wisdom from those generations ahead of us. This past year, Theta Lambda Chapter has volunteered their time with the following: Relay for Life, American Diabetes Association, and Childrens Miracle Network. We are always seeking out new opportunities to provide service within the Pensacola community.
